Wednesday the kittens had their wellness exams and all did beautifully. The car ride to the vet was a bit loud and so we will be practicing car travel in the coming week. Dr Kim said Kahlua had a feisty streak in her and that she will need to be handled gently. The vet tech and I think Kahlua's mean expression had something to do with the rectal thermometer! Ears, eyes, hearts and weights all looked fine. The weaning begins today and I expect them to gain weight quickly on normal food as they won't be so full on milk. I will leave one kitten with mom for a few days and put her on a restricted diet to let her milk production reduce gradually. In few days Eustoliia will go to the groomer and have herself a little pampering.. = ) Lately.. all they do is eat and play and sleep... I am collecting video to post soon. My mom has been here for the past week and they are all suitable spoiled now. 
Kahlua (blue collar).. She is such a feminine kitten, and will be a pale blue point. Her eyes are the brightest pale blue.. very pretty. She is almost half the size of her brother Tmii.Kalista below is wearing her green collar. She is very active and loves to wrestle, pounce in the air and can stand on her hind feet for a long time. I think she will be excellent at games.Purple collar kitty is on breeder reserve.Mr Big Stuff, aka Orange, aka Tmii, (name to be advised by Nancy)Dawn and her boys came for a visit today and we had a nice chat and weighed the kittens. Dawn has picked out the two that will be joining her "Kahlua"/ 1.55 lbs and "Kalista" /1.01 lbs are their new names.
Tmii the male /1.70 lbs. On reserve for Nancy M., Salinas, CA pending saliva tests. Third girl name tba is 1.37 lbs. on breeder reserve. Photos pending. We woke them up from a nice nap and put them in the sun .. away from mom. Here are some snaps ... Next week they will start wearing colored collars 24/7 to help identify them.. All are using the litter pan very well now and eating dry food.. most of them sit entirely in the food bowl while eating.. very cute! This coming few weeks they will also be spending more time with me and the kids and less time with Eustoliia.. she will appreciate the relaxation time. We will see them develop personalities and confidence away from mom in the next ten days. Tmii, the male is very sweet . .... and really likes to be held. It is difficult to convince him to sit still for photos. Tasha below - a big girl with attitude.. in general they are all very sweet and easygoing at this age. |
