Update March 6th
RACHANA
RALEIGH
RADKA
RAIN
RAIDEN
These are the foods that they eat. I keep the dry food bowl full. You may want to pick up a few cans of this easy to digest canned food from your vet ahead of time. It is helpful to use as treats to train them to come when called. Also it is great during times of transitions and stress such as moving and weaning.

Update March 6th, 2017
Rain is a handsome boy who loves to be pet and scratched. He purrs so loud, it seems to vibrate the air. Rain loves wrestling with his siblings and to sit up high and close to me (top of the couch for example).
Raleigh is a sneaky girl. She loves feeding time and enjoys playing with wand toys. Raleigh is often sneaky up on her siblings and tries to scare them as she runs by.
Raiden is the biggest and is a curious one, often testing his abilities with jumping and running as fast as he can. Raiden likes to snuggle next to me when he is not wrestling his siblings.
Rachana recently discovered my fish tank and loves to sit and watch the fish. She often sits on the stool, leaning closer and closer to the tank until she falls off.
Rachana is a bit klutzy, but very entertaining. She tries to sneak up on her siblings and myself, only to scare herself. She loves to snuggle under the blankets on my lap and often runs and makes odd chirping noises in her sleep.
Radka is a talker, she loves attention and when she isn't getting it, you'll be sure to hear about it. Radka is very much a lap cat and loves to be pet and stare into your eyes while she snuggles you until she falls asleep.

Update Feb 27th, 2017 in progress
RADKA :Radka is a pretty girl, often looking as if she is made of gold. She likes to sit on my books and notebooks. Radka can get a bit jumpy at times, but plays like that in general; jumping high in the air and overacting/over exaggerating every move. Very fun to play with and will fall over when I pet her. (below)
RACHANA BREEDER RESERVE. Rachana enjoys hiding so that she can jump out and try to scare you but then scares herself in the process. She is half grace, half klutz. She has been a very good snuggler on these cold days, sleeping stretched out across my lap under the blankets. Rachana makes funny chirping and grunting noises on the daily, even while she sleeps.
RAIN: Rain is also very snuggly. His purr is like a motorcycle rumbling. Whether I am petting, scratching him, or just sitting next to him he purrs. He loves to have his ears rubbed! (below)
RAIDEN: Raiden is a big, masculine boy... who enjoys snuggles. He often lays on his back in my lap while I watch TV, play games, or study. He cries for me to give attention and then rolls around when I do give him attention.(below)
RALEIGH Raleigh is a sweet girl, always coming to greet me when I get home. She is very graceful and quiet when she plays and very good at sneaking up on her siblings.(below)
This litter has been reserved by those on the list, Rachana is on a breeder reserve hold.
rAUpdate Feb 9 .............................. two Early pay discounts are available. I'll be adding photos and video over the next few days. Radka and raleigh did not take any good photos today. The video of Radka is good though.
Two girls Radka and Rachana
Radka is very sweet and is not shy. She is going to be very pretty. She loves to play with her brothers and climb the cat tree. Her cute trick is to lick her feet while on her back.
Raleigh
Raleigh is very shy compared to her siblings at this current stage. She has sad eyes . She is adorable but often looks like she is worried about you.
Raleigh Blue and white socks (female)

Raiden is chunky and likes to lay on his side and stare at you. He is very relaxed and is going to be very plump if his love of food continues.
Rain
Rachana
Rachana is the runt but very sweet. Correction - she does not have runt qualities and is in perfect health.. just a little smaller - She is super feisty and likes to jump around like she is "full of electricity" and scare the other kittens in a game. Rachana tends to vocalize more than the others.

These sweet kittens are spending all of their time in the nest box and almost always with Mama Opal. The photos are the best that we can do at this age. The quality of the photos will improve soon as well the addition of personality descriptions. When the kittens start eating solid food or canned food (their choice) then they will move from the bathroom to the living room where their big cat tree by the window waits for them. We are feeding Royal Canin kitten dry food. They have not tried it yet.. but mama cat loves it. It has lots of calories which she needs. Opal is relaxed and content in her current home. The kittens will absorb that peacefulness. One of the kittens has a goopy eye but that is temporary. They are all very healthy and gaining weight at a steady pace. I look forward to seeing them grow and become more active in the coming weeks.
- Raiden male 14.5 ounces
- Rachana female 12.6
- Radka female 12.6
- Raleigh female 14.5
- Rain male 14.0

Update 1/7/17 (two weeks old now)
Welcome to Opal's kitten blog.
Flower is placeholder for 5th kitten video (tomorrow). Mom was having emotional problems and severe separation anxiety typical of a first time mom.. we had to cut the photo session short. The kittens are living with my daughter now in Portland and they will be spoiled and well socialized. Thanks Maddie!
In the wee hours of Dec 24th Opal gave birth to her first litter. There are currently five kittens. That is a big litter for any cat. She is showing the best of mothering instincts. Her kittens are fed, clean and she won't let me look at them unless she gets some nice Holistic Select canned food. So none of them look like Opal or Padoro. They are all darkly colored tabby versions with one exception.. what I think is a big black and white tuxedo of sorts. He was the first born and very large which was why Opal had such a long and arduous labor. Later today I'll put in a new blanket into the box and take photos. We use newspaper for bedding to start. The tiny babies can slide and wiggle around on newspaper without getting their toe nails stuck in towel loop fabric. So if anyone was waiting on the list for a tabby this may be a great choice. Merry Christmas to all! What a happy time here at the cattery.
At this time (5 days old) I think I see:
1 Blue tabby with high white on tummy and all of legs and part of face FEMALE
1 Black tabby FEMALE
1 Solid blue grey tabby MALE
1 blue grey tabby with short white socks MALE
