Welcome to Hazelnut's kitten blog. 5 Kittens born March 2nd, 2023.
March 26th, 3 plus weeks old.
Three and a half weeks old. They are wrestling and kicking and chewing on each other. They are especially comfortable in their box and on Grandma's lap. Next week they will probably be climbing out of the box and tottering around their room. I won't let them have free run of the house until they are potty trained at 5 weeks or so. They are a true joy to be around. Enjoy the videos.
March 19 2 1/2 weeks old
Photo below of my son, John, having a little rest with the babies. We carry them around in an Easter basket and give them cuddles in the family room. This week I took them in to see my vet to check their genders. I wasn't sure on one of them. Unfortunately mother nature is not being clear because my vet was also a little bit uncertain. They could be 4 girls, 1 boy. The boy (if a boy) is on a breeder reserve. The kittens are adorable and nursing well. They are starting to play and wrestle with each other in the nest box.
March 12th, '23 --- 10 days old
We have a lot of girls. All the colorpoint (lynxpoint probably) that are light grey now are girls. The one possible male is the blue grey tabby. All appear very fat and healthy at this point. The light grey kittens are developing grey ears. They will very likely be blue-eyed lynx points. I'll share some photos of cats soon showing what they will look like as adults. Some have white mittens. They should all be cute as buttons. We have started taking them out of the nursery and carrying them in a wicker basket to the tv room where grandma and I take turns holding them in our laps. The big deal now is that they are opening their eyes this week. Next week they will be fully open and starting to see what their world is all about.
Five beautiful kittens were born on March 2nd. Four colorpoints and one blue tabby. Genders and exact colors will be revealed as soon as evident. These kittens will be ready for their new homes at 12 weeks of age. (May 20-28 approximately). At 8 weeks of age they have their first vet check up. After that appointment I will let folks start choosing their kittens. I work from the reservation list. If you are not ready to pick up your kitten May 20-28 I can board the kitten at my home. Over the next 12 weeks I'll update this blog weekly with photos, video and personality descriptions as they develop. It will be lots of fun. Watch this space!
