We have been playing a lot with the leather wand toy, listening to music and loving the kittens. The four lynxpoints are starting their last week with the foster family. They weigh between 2 1/2 and 3 lbs. Venus went to her new home in Portland this afternoon. Thank you to Jocelyn for these nice photos and for taking such lovely care of these girls.

Venus, Aphrodite and Persephone are reserved for folks at this time. Athena and Selene are being offered to those on the reservation list in order of date application received. Venus is my mom's favorite. She sleeps on her legs or cuddles up to her neck while watching tv at night. Venus has a lot of confidence. She will be going to live with another cat which will be terrific for her. Venus talks a lot and purrs a lot. She is very sociable.
Aphrodite and Selene are both purr machines too. Aphrodite and Selene both lick your hand when you pet them. They follow you around and beg to be picked up. Aphrodite seems to have humans wrapped around her paw. She is very intelligent and a little more cautious than the others. These are not necessarily permanent traits. They are just observations at this moment in their development.
Athena is in her own league. She continues to be bold and gregarious. She is most similar to Venus in this regard. Athena looks dramatic with her striking dark patterns. She is 1st to the wand toys and might be the most active of the group.
Persephone is a gorgeous girl and she knows it. She is very bonded to her sisters and has yet to venture away from the group. She will have the look of a Ragdoll with her pink nose and white patterns. I can't wait to see what she looks like as she matures.
Overall the kittens are doing excellent. We continue to get them used to having their nails clipped and having baths. This last week their baths were easy. Lots of purrs and making muffins in the air with their paws .

Happy Mother's Day this weekend. I'll be taking a break from my computer until Tuesday. The kittens are now taking lunch meat from my hands as treats. Naturally processed lunch meat is easier on their digestion than commercially prepared cat treats which are really meant for adult cats.
We continue to bond . On Tuesday the babies go to Damascus, Oregon to my friend's house to be immersed in love and attention by their children. This is an important step in their socialization. They all have taken to sleeping on my mother's rocking chair. Several of the kittens lick you when you pet them. They are starting to purr more and more. They will be ready for collection on June 3rd/June 4th. I'll be making appointments for specific pick up times so I have time to chat. Next week I'll be sending out a shopping list, kitty care document, insurance promo and sales agreements. Please keep them on the same food for at least a month. Again, Happy Mother's Day.

The vet visit went great. All are strong and healthy. Selene and Venus have small umbilical hernias which my vet wasn't worried about. They can be repaired easily at the time of spay when they are 5-6 months old. I'm reducing their cost by 100 to compensate as this is what my vet would charge. Venus's hernia is so small the vet advised it may just heal up on it's own and is very tiny .
Weaning took place today. The kittens are all eating well and playing hard. Tomorrow I'll add video to this blog. They all come when called except for Aphrodite who insists I play with the wand toy for a few minutes before she will come to me. She is the baby in the group. Venus and Athena had a nice nap on the couch today. Aphrodite, Selene and Persephone slept on the rocking chair in a big kitty pile up. I am using World's Best cat litter. It is flushable and perfume free. I love it because I keep the litterboxes next to the toilet and scoop frequently. If they accidentally step in wet litter and it gets on a paw.. it is easy to rinse off. The kittens are really good about getting bathed and I encourage you to to keep this up so when they are big it will be easier.

Eight weeks and playing hard and sleeping a lot. Selene is a real sweetheart. Aphrodite is a conflict avoider and waits for the other kittens to get tired before she gets her turn on the wand toys. Selene and Aphrodite are both very girly. Aphrodite has quite a long name to say so Im calling her TeeTee for short. Persephone with the pink nose is running up to greet me when I walk in the room and looks up at me as if to say Hello. She is happy being alone or with the group. Athena is in a league of her own. She is extremely playful and confident. She is usually 1st to try and grab the leather wand toy and run off with it. She and her larger sister, Venus, dominate the playtime. Venus is already adventuring on top of chairs and side tables. This is something the other kittens wouldn't imagine doing at this age.
We are feeding canned Purina shreds turkey and cheese twice a day now to supplement the baby food and Royal Canin kibble. Hazelnut is still fat and producing lots of milk too. On Friday we go to the vet to get our exams. Enjoy the video. I'll take more video this week and post to my Daisley Siberians channel and into this blog.

The weeks are flying by. We are feeding Royal Canin Mother and Baby cat dry with Gerber chicken babyfood. Venus and Athena are the two boldest sisters. They are climbing up my pant leg and eating a lot of food. Both of these two are the largest of the group. Venus remains fairly calm but playful. Athena is a rascal and very energetic. Selene is serene and very much a team member. She is enjoying chewing my shoelaces and chasing furry toys. Persephone jumped into my bathtub and couldn't figure out how to get back out. She just sat quietly until I found her. She is a little passive at this stage. Aphrodite is also loves my shoelaces and follows me around the room. She is kind of a drama queen and hissed at the broom recently. Over the coming weeks as they mature they will learn to use soft paws, not to scratch, have a bath, and come when called. I use a spoon and tap on a dish when I feed them babyfood. Today they all had a nail trim. They get weighed once a week and are all on track, gaining nicely. Our vet appointment is May 4th. At that point we will know if they are all healthy and I'll elaborate on their personalities .

They are half way to 12 weeks and their go home time. All are using the litter boxes 100 percent. Some are eating and some don't like the blue Buffalo food so I switched to the tiny kibble size of Royal Canin Mother and Baby cat food. I also am providing Gerber babyfood and kitten milk formula. Mama Hazelnut is producing lots of milk still and they enjoy nursing regularly. When they nurse they take turns and mama purrs loudly.
I have decided to spay Hazelnut after this litter and will be looking for a retirement home in the PNW in June. Her personality is outstanding and she will make someone a lovely pet.
I am moving them all into the family room for playtime during the day so they can get used to loud noises and being held more. Unfortunately some of the kittens have developed small umbilical hernias which can be easily fixed at the time of their spay surgery. This is a harmless condition and doesn't affect the health of the kitten.
All of the girls are absolutely beautiful. They have inherited the lovely personalities of their parents. Please forgive the eye debris in the photos. These babies are at a stage where they are very messy.

We are all girls. 5 weeks. All are on track for weight and development. Next week they will start eating Blue Buffalo kitten dry food and chicken babyfood. We have Greek Goddesses for this group.
Venus : Blue tabby No collar
Athena: Lynx point Pink collar
Persephone: Lynx point with pink nose. No collar.
Aphrodite: Lynx point Yellow collar.
Selene: Lynx point. Purple collar.
The kittens are all girls. What finally gave it away was the blue tabby developed a beige leg and that means she carries the red gene. Only females can carry both black (dilute black is blue) and red (beige/cream).
They have been offered food but there are no takers. They are using the kitten litter boxes which are extra low. What cuties.

Four weeks old. This week they start with a doorway cut into their box so they can adventure around the room. However most of the time they will be a big puppy pile of kittens inside the box. Hazelnut guides them back into the box when they wander. The little blue (dark grey) kitty in still a mystery (gender).
I have placed little low litter boxes in their room but don't expect them to use them for another week. We are naming them this week and will try to put colored collars on the 3 identical lynx points.

March 26th, 3 plus weeks old.
Three and a half weeks old. They are wrestling and kicking and chewing on each other. They are especially comfortable in their box and on Grandma's lap. Next week they will probably be climbing out of the box and tottering around their room. I won't let them have free run of the house until they are potty trained at 5 weeks or so. They are a true joy to be around. Enjoy the videos.
March 19 2 1/2 weeks old
Photo below of my son, John, having a little rest with the babies. We carry them around in an Easter basket and give them cuddles in the family room. This week I took them in to see my vet to check their genders. I wasn't sure on one of them. Unfortunately mother nature is not being clear because my vet was also a little bit uncertain. They could be 4 girls, 1 boy. The boy (if a boy) is on a breeder reserve. The kittens are adorable and nursing well. They are starting to play and wrestle with each other in the nest box.
March 12th, '23 --- 10 days old
We have a lot of girls. All the colorpoint (lynxpoint probably) that are light grey now are girls. The one possible male is the blue grey tabby. All appear very fat and healthy at this point. The light grey kittens are developing grey ears. They will very likely be blue-eyed lynx points. I'll share some photos of cats soon showing what they will look like as adults. Some have white mittens. They should all be cute as buttons. We have started taking them out of the nursery and carrying them in a wicker basket to the tv room where grandma and I take turns holding them in our laps. The big deal now is that they are opening their eyes this week. Next week they will be fully open and starting to see what their world is all about.
Five beautiful kittens were born on March 2nd. Four colorpoints and one blue tabby. Genders and exact colors will be revealed as soon as evident. These kittens will be ready for their new homes at 12 weeks of age. (May 20-28 approximately). At 8 weeks of age they have their first vet check up. After that appointment I will let folks start choosing their kittens. I work from the reservation list. If you are not ready to pick up your kitten May 20-28 I can board the kitten at my home. Over the next 12 weeks I'll update this blog weekly with photos, video and personality descriptions as they develop. It will be lots of fun. Watch this space!
