Vet appointment went well. All are very healthy. This week we start the FVRCP vaccines and deworming. They are officially weaned now and will be leaving Saturday for their socializing immersion. They live with a family with children and get lots of love. They are super loving now but will be more so and even more confident by Dec 17th. I'll be reaching out to those near the top of the reservation list this week/weekend to help with choosing a kitten, and arranging pick up times on the 17th. If you are needing the kitten to stay longer that can be arranged. These kittens are extremely good looking, fat, fluffy and also loving and playful. It's a terrific group. Cassie did a great job with them. We are using feather wand toys and calling "kitty kitty" to teach them to come when called.

These busy kittens are hankering to run the house. A very brave group. They are ignoring my sweet old dog. THey are now eating their dry Tastefuls Blue Buffalo chicken and rice kibble plus Gerber Baby food stage 1 turkey or chicken. I tap the jars together and make a clicking noise, then call "Kitty kitty" and put the food onto a paper plate on the floor. I am teaching them to come when called. I recommend their new owners also have babyfood instead of canned food. Their stool smells better and it is healthy for them and helps them stay fat and happy. Feather wand toys are a big hit right now and sisal scratch posts.

Below are the products I use here. I feed Blue Tastefuls kitten dry. (Keep the bowl full) and 3 types of litter I recommend. The Ultra Dr Elseys is a clay litter that covers odor well and if you choose clay litter I'd buy a metal litter scoop. The orange and green bags are Worlds' Best flushable litters. These are great if you want to keep the litter box in the bathroom (great idea) and then you can scoop the litter box frequently, and easily into the toilet. I usually put the litterbox (small) in the corner next to the base of the toilet. When kittens are very young and in their new home keeping them in a small room like a bathroom at night and when you are out of the house is a good plan. The prices at Amazon.com are unusually high so we try to buy from chewy.com. Chewy has toys too!

6 weeks. Wow what an active, loving bunch of babies. They have lots of confidence and continue to climb all over me. They have started to eat canned food plus kibble. Because this is a big litter they might wean faster because their caloric needs might be more than the milk available from Cassie. Cassie has a sweet and relaxed personality and the kittens are all taking on her ways. I'm so pleased with their personalities. I'll be introducing new toys and letting them into the living room to explore this coming week. Tristan missed out on the photo shoot this week but I'll add him in a few days. Next week we will have colored collars, wand toys and introduction to my old sweet dog.

5 weeks. Kittens are very playful and using the litterboxes...just a few accidents. They are eating babyfood and trying out the Blue Buffalo kibble (kitten). Rosie and Helen are very girlie and the boys are very very boyish. When I enter their room they climb all over me and jump on top of my tennis shoes. I can't walk around in their room because they are under foot, literally. I have to sit . Grandma is enjoying holding all the kittens. Here is a photo of her at her happiest. The kittens often fall asleep in her lap. All are fat and healthy.

Four weeks and starting to venture outside the box. Very exciting. I think I'll get some action video of them this week or more pictures. They were not 'into' the photo session on the countertop today. Very roly poly and cute shapes. Short legs and round bodies. Tails in the air... James and Tristan are identical . Siegfried has two small dots on his nose. Rosie is a black/brown tabby and Helen (under breeder reserve at this time) is a lynx point without white mittens. We trimmed nails today. Tomorrow I'll introduce new balls and toys. This week we might try some canned food and tiny, low litter boxes. Potty training will be coming soon.

They are starting to get cute. Very alert, lots of good eye contact and they love to be petted and spoken to. They are still nursing - no food yet. Next week they will venture out of the box and explore. Grandma and I are holding them and getting them used to our tv shows. Lots of white mittens , blue eyes and light grey fluff. You can definitely tell Cesare - a lynx point, is the dad. The genders are more clear. Three lynx point males and 2 females: one tabby, one lynx point. One of the kittens has a dark nose with two tiny dots. This may change over time , or not. Quite unusual. Cassie is eating all day and has become enormous which is great as she has lots of milk.

All the kittens are doing great... not as fat as Hazelnut's litter but still very chunky. Mama Cassie is soo relaxed and is happy to have people pet and hold her babies. Photos will be better when they can focus and look at the camera. Right now they are wobbling and rolling and army crawling. Grandma enjoys holding them and telling them how beautiful they are. There may be a gender change. One of the 'girl' lynx points is looking more like an under developed male. I'll be able to confirm that later. This week they will get a larger box and a few balls to play with.
10-9-22
Eyes are just starting to open. They have milk stains on their cute little faces. There are 3 males and they are appear to be lynx point with and without white mittens. The tabby is a female. We are naming them after James Herriott's All Creatures Great and Small books/tv shows. James, Tristan, Siegfried, Rosie and Helen.
This group will be ready the Saturday 17 December to collect from my house. If you are unable to pick up your kitten that weekend I can board for a fee up until Jan 1st, 2023. I can not ship kittens cargo at that time of year but can meet folks at the PDX airport if needed.

Silently and with great mothering skills.. Cassie had 5 kittens last night. You know the mother cat is doing a great job if all kittens are quiet and nursing. This was a first time mating to Cesare. I was expecting all tabbies as with her previous litter. However we were surprised with 4 color points and 1 black mackerel tabby. More photos this week!
