Dry cat food for kittens:
Because each litter/genetic line seems to do better on different foods.. and sometimes there are differences within a litter I will refrain from pushing one food over another. I think each individual kitten may have different needs too. I am happy to share feedback from owners and guide your decisions.
Also food needs change over the lifetime of the cat/kitten. I also feed different foods in different seasons here at the cattery.
What do I feed at the cattery?
Life's Abundance Dry Cat food. (Human grade meat and probiotics)
Hills Science Diet canned I/D (from your vet)
"Stella and Chewys" raw dehydrated meat.
Royal Canin Extreme Hairball Dry (during hairball season)
Holistic Select weight control
What do happy owners feed?
This has been an ongoing discussion for years. My most sensitive cats are thriving on grain free high end foods such as canned "Tiki Cat" , "Organix" canned, "Paul Newman's" canned and "Pure Vita dry", "Merrick before grain", Holistic Select, Nature's Variety. Holistic Select.
as well as raw foods : "Stella and Chewys", "Darwin" "Rad Cat" and the list goes on.
Many of Teresa's cats at Perovskia who descend from Dori's lineage seem to do very well on basic Purina Complete dry.
Also food needs change over the lifetime of the cat/kitten. I also feed different foods in different seasons here at the cattery.
