This litter is so FLUFFY!!! They definitely have their father, Kodiak's genes. They are so fluffy in fact that I am going to recommend a puppy slicker brush to start them off with as kittens. They need to love being brushed and starting young is important. They have received their first FVRCP vaccine and are in their foster home with 3 kids ages 5,10, and 15. They are getting handled a LOT and being loved on, and snuggled .
I have started reaching out to those on the reservation list in date order application was received. Please keep an eye on your email.

Riesling is sweet as pie. She is very feminine and playful. She lacks the white mittens but makes up for it with her beautiful blue eyes. They look like jewels in sunlight. She is learning to love laps, easy to bathe and brush. She has an excellent temperament and reminds me of her grandfather Mikola. Very friendly and cute.
Chardonnay is developing at her own pace.. slowly. She is almost the largest kitten in the group... Often she is staying out of the pandemonium. I will keep her an extra week or two until she is confident as a diva and ready for her forever home. In a large litter I'll often see a wallflower blossom once they get more one on one attention after the other kittens leave.
Syrah is a stunning girl. She is large and sweet, calm and very observant. While her brothers are wrestling she often sits in the window cat tree and watches squirrels... she joins in when I get out my feather, leather wand toys though. Syrah is a show quality kitten.
Merlot is smaller than the other males. Because the kittens grow in spurts I can't say if he will stay smaller than his brothers. Merlot is very affectionate and was the first to purr when petted. Merlot is cute and comical. He goes crazy for toys and feathers. When I play with the wand toy he grabs the end and sits back and won't let go. He always makes me laugh.
Cab is a peaceful guy but the first to explore. He is a shoelace boy and often attacking my shoes. Cab also has the fancy white mittens. He is different in that he was first out of the nest box and first to try food, and first to climb to the top of the cat tree.
Lovely boy who loves to be petted and play with wand toys. Snazzy white feet and patient with kids. Pinot tends to be very curious about everything and often sits up on his hind legs when he sees something interesting or when I approach him. Pinot is a star kitten.
2-7-26 eight weeks
The vet exam this morning went perfectly. All have perfect hearts, teeth, etc. I'll be updating the blog tomorrow with photos.
2-1-26 seven weeks
1-23-26 six weeks
Oh wow they are really messy right now. They are needing baths regularly. They play in the water and food bowls. The potty training is great though. Their personalities are starting to come out. Cab is a real ham. He is an attention hog. Pinot loves to stand on his hind legs which is adorable. Merlot is super sweet and has that extra cuteness factor. Syrah is just plain gorgeous. Ries aka Riesling and Char aka Chardonnay are very feminine and little mama's girls. Ries is a very good climber and adventurous.

This week they are starting to adventure . They are eating small amounts of dry food, nursing, drinking from a bowl and going in and out of the litterboxes. Next week they will likely start using the litterboxes. Grandma is holding them while watching tv. They enjoy being handled and petted. It is important to hold them and talk to them a lot during these impressionable times.
THE FEMALES: Yellow, Pink, Dark pink collars.
THE BOYS : Blue, Black and Orange collars.

The neighbor girls and grandma and I are holding the kittens and getting them used to being held and petted. They are all about the same size and look great. This is a scruffy stage.. lots of nursing and rolling around in the nest box. Kate continues to be a very relaxed mama. The kittens are being named after noble wine grapes. Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot and Syrah, Chardonnay and Riesling. As soon as they are big enough to safely wear colored collars I'll put them on and do individual photos with names. This is usually at 5 weeks.
At 8 1/2 weeks (Feb 7th) they go for their vet appointment for a wellness check and start their vaccine series. At that point I'll reach out to those on the reservation list to talk to folks about choosing a kitten. I use the date application was received and go down the list.

Happy Holidays. Kittens have opened their eyes and are just nursing and sleeping 24/7. We started holding them and talking to them to get them ready for the world. Mama Kate is doing a good job. However she is moving them around the her room a little bit so I keep an eye on that and move them back to the box. The kittens right now are all of an average size. Nicely plump and appear healthy in every way. Next week they'll start playing in the box. and I'll add some simple toys for them.

I think we have 6 healthy babies. Three females, three males. They will be offered to folks on the reservation list. Right now they are nursing every 2-3 hours. They are very content and quiet. Over the next 2 weeks they will start to open their eyes. Mother Kate is eating a lot and gets her favorite foods... The coat patterns will become clearer over the next 6-8 weeks.
