Wednesday the kittens had their wellness exams and all did beautifully. The car ride to the vet was a bit loud and so we will be practicing car travel in the coming week. Dr Kim said Kahlua had a feisty streak in her and that she will need to be handled gently. The vet tech and I think Kahlua's mean expression had something to do with the rectal thermometer! Ears, eyes, hearts and weights all looked fine. The weaning begins today and I expect them to gain weight quickly on normal food as they won't be so full on milk. I will leave one kitten with mom for a few days and put her on a restricted diet to let her milk production reduce gradually. In few days Eustoliia will go to the groomer and have herself a little pampering.. = )
